approach, storyteller and myth-maker, Mary-Alice works with
individuals, groups and organisations to unleash potential and create
sustainable results. She has worked as a consultant and facilitator
since 1996.
From 1987 to 1995, Mary-Alice worked with the New
Zealand Tourism Board in pioneering national initiatives, which
impacted on international perceptions of New Zealand. She developed and
launched the concept of Event Tourism, and initiated and managed the
internationally recognised KiwiHost customer service programme over its
first five years. Through these initiatives, she gained a national
reputation for her innovative approach and ability to create and
encourage long range vision.
Appreciative Inquiry
Appreciative
Inquiry has been used successfully in a variety of environments
including business, health care, education and local government. It is
an approach focussed on "what's working well around here?" Appreciative
Inquiry seeks to build on success, as opposed to working from a
problem-based perspective centred on blame and "if only". Appreciative
Inquiry plays a role in culture change, merger processes and team
visioning. Mary-Alice Arthur has had experience implementing
Appreciative Inquiry and she is eager to continue using this process
because she has seen it foster positive and lasting development.
